Rob van Duivenboden

Rob was once described as ‘a terrier who likes to dig.’ He’s all in to find the truth and to figure out the right thing to do. With broad skills ranging from microbiology to environmental science and agriculture, Rob quietly leads by supporting people and organisations through change – developing new policy and giving people innovative tools to implement it. He gravitates to the change makers, recognises their strengths, and supports them with all that truth he dug up earlier. Unwinding the complexity of water issues inspires Rob: no family road trip is complete without stopping to look in drains, consider landscapes, or observe cause and effect.

Rob has advised agriculture industries and regional governments on environmental policy development, and has experience in applied science, high level RMA and court proceedings, and as a technical commissioner. He has significant experience in:

  • Regional planning

  • Effects assessments

  • Agriculture and water quality sciences, including health risk assessments

  • Consent processes

  • Environmental policy implementation
